Designercon Recap and Looking to the future.
We're recently back from Designercon Pasadena. This was our first west coast show, and we had a lot of fun. I'm going to share some photos from the event, and talk a little bit about some of the things we're working on. Strap in!
We drove to California for this show, which meant we didn't have nearly as extravagant of a setup as we normally do at these kinds of show, but I think we made a good showing of it. We had soft rubber keshi, some previews of our upcoming jointed action figures, our latest video game, t-shirts, our new trading card game, and some previews of soon to be released cartoons and comics.
Comics and Cartoons
Speaking of which! Here's a preview of one of our upcoming cartoons. This one is called Spacehawk Likes to Talk, and stars everyone's favorite semi-imortal bounty hunter Spacehawk as he deals with the boredom wrought by a faulty FTL drive and a 300 year journey home.
It will be an animated talk show, taking light inspiration from Space Ghost Coast to Coast and heavy inspiration from The Original Max Talking Headroom Show. The first episode debuts sometime in August, and I'm sure we'll talk all about it here when it does.
We also have an original Sky Pirates comic in the works! It's illustrated by Dee Fish, and it looks really great so far!
In Person
If you're looking to get some of our products in person, our original toys are now available at Hemlock Bazaar in Ellijay, GA, Electric Crocodile Vintage (both locations) in Chattanooga TN, and Treasure Hunt Antiques in Powder Springs, GA. We'll also be at a number of shows over the coming months.
We have a few more shows planned for the rest of this year, including:
- Treasure Hunt Sidewalk Swap - (August 1st)
- Totally Rad Vintage Festival Atlanta - (August 15th and 16th)
- Jasper Comic Con - (October 23rd and 24th)
- Designer Con Las Vegas - (November 13th - 15th)
The two shows that were historically our biggest, Assembly Required Asheville and the Philadelphia Designer Art Toy Show have been indefinitely postponed, so we're looking for new events for 2027. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
